Divinity II Contest Lets You Win Your Own Art

January 11, 2010

Divinity II – Ego Draconis just came out for the Xbox 360 last week and its publisher – cdv Software – wants you to know all about it.  In fact, they’re having an art contest in the game’s honor, which actually sounds pretty cool, unless you’re completely talentless like me.  If you can prove your artistic skills to cdv, you could be in line for some pretty sweet prizes.

Here’s what you have to do: You have to base your art on in-game assets which can be found at the official site.  (Although don’t ask me where they are, perhaps they’re just the fansite kit assets linked to at the bottom?)  Anyway, you have to base your art off them.  In the words of the press release:

Aspiring dragon slayers must forge works of epic beauty in competition for a host of rare treasures. Contestant submissions will be judged on their creativity, relevance to Divinity II – Ego Draconis and presentation quality.

What do you win?  This is the cool part!  You have the chance to win a nice console skin for your Xbox 360 featuring the winner’s actual artwork.  There are also themed controllers, controller skins and in-game bonuses (among other things) up for grabs.  So, if you’re interested, check out the official site linked above.  Note there are also a couple more contests that are ongoing to enter there, as well.  At least one is for the lazy – you just have to leave your name, number and e-mail.
