Divinity: Original Sin Update Discusses Beta Version, Day and Night Cycles Cancelled for NPCs

The team at Larian Studios has a special and super long update video for fans today, which goes over the upcoming beta version of Divinity: Original Sin as well as new features making their debut.

Once the transition from Alpha to Beta is complete, there will be no more additional mechanics added to the title; the development will instead focus on purely polishing the game and prepping it for full release. There is a downside to this update, however.

Swen announced that there will be no Night and Day Cycles for NPCs which, if you recalled, was a feature that was part of the $1 million stretch goal. This is due to the sheer number of NPCs that exist in the world and their other behaviors that needed to be programed into the game.

Watch the 23 minute video below for an in-depth look into all the new changes.
