What Is Aliens: Fireteam Elite?

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is an upcoming cooperative third-person survival shooter that is set in the iconic world of Ridley Scott's Alien.

Players are dropped into a desperate fight to contain the evolving threat of the Xenomorph. This third-person shooter requires players to face off against waves of terrifying Xenomorph and Weyland-Yutani Synthetic foes alongside two players or AI teammates.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be available on August 24th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Microsoft Windows.

Does Aliens: Fireteam Elite Support Crossplay or Crossgen?

Unfortunately, the CEO of Cold Iron Studios revealed to GameSpot that Aliens: Fireteam Elite will not be supporting crossplay at launch. It's possible that it will be added at a later date but, as of writing, there's no way to crossplay on Aliens: Fireteam Elite.

However, the upcoming alien shooter will support cross-gen play.

What's The Difference Between Crossplay and Crossgen?

Crossplay is an online functionality that allows gamers to play with other platforms. For example, if a game supports crossplay it means that Xbox users are able to play with their friends on PlayStation or PC, and vice versa.

As for crossgen, this is a similar concept but only allows players to play with their friends on the previous generation of consoles. Meaning PlayStation 5 can still play with PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S can play with Xbox One.
