WITH a new update out today, gamers want to know exactly what has changed and whether there is a new Warzone meta to follow during Pacific Season 2.

The patch notes released today by developers Raven Software confirm some drastic changes have been made in-game. Not only have new weapons been added to the official arsenal for use on Rebirth Island and Caldera, but gamers will notice that many of the most popular weapons have been adjusted.

As confirmed by Raven in the patch notes, An attribute can increase and be detrimental, or decrease and be beneficial.

And when trying to follow all the changes, it is recommended to focus on the "down from" or "up from" language. "Down from" will always indicate a negative effect, while "up from" will always be positive.

Warzone Season 2 Meta News

It has been confirmed that all Vanguard Weapons have had their Ballistics behaviour adjusted to more closely match MW and BOCW Weapons. And then there are a ton of other changes listed in today's Warzone patch notes covering most weapons. And while we can't say for sure if any will have been demoted in the official meta, we can throw out a few warnings.

The K98K, one of the leading weapons and loadout choices for Caldera, has been tweaked. Speaking about the change that drops ADS Speed to .455, down from .29, Raven explained to fans: "There are two parts which comprise the Stats of the Kar98k (VG): the Weapon and the Base Optic.

"In the case of the Kar98k (VG), much of its ADS Speed stats were coming from its Optics. "We have decided to take that ADS Speed and spread it out more evenly amongst its Attachments. The result is a more consistent range of ADS Speeds that will not vary as wildly depending on the Optic alone. When considering the changes made to Optics and other Attachments, this results in a net increase to the Kar98k's (VG) ADS Speeds."

New Call of Duty Combos Coming Soon?

Other notable changes include tweaks made to incendiary rounds, a bullet type only available on Vanguard weapons. Raven has confirmed that Base Burn Damage has decreased to six, down from nine, while the Damage is reduced by 10% (3% for Sniper Rifles). This is an area where Raven expects to see a decrease in use, telling fans today: "Trading damage now for Damage later will have many Players still equipped with Incendiary wondering why they lost an even, or slightly advantaged fight.

"For now, Incendiary will provide a niche use on specific Weapons where shots are intermittently hit, or fire is unreturned. Players with above average aim will want to find a new type of Ammunition to lock and load."

There are also new guns to use, which could help shape how the Warzone Season 2 meta develops. These can be listed below and are both free guns that can be unlocked via the Battle Pass.

The KG M40: Assault Rifle (VG) - Workhorse assault rifle. Naturally steady and accurate. Unlocks at Tier 15
The Whitley: Light Machine Gun (VG) - Heavy long-range machine gun, cumbersome but consistent. - Unlocks at Tier 31.

Both guns have the potential to upend the meta in a big way, but we will have to wait a few more days until we have concrete evidence regarding what could be the next meta weapon. Meanwhile, the Swiss K31 appears to remain largely untouched, although that depends on what attachments you use.

Other changes include the Light Machine Gun Charlie seeing a slight drop in stats, while the Sub-Machine Gun Charlie seeing its max damage range cut drastically from 422, down from 473. These effects are expected to add up and could leave the MP40 dropping down the list for another selection.
