Developer DONTNOD Entertainment and publisher Focus Home Interactive have announced that they will be again working together on a new "ambitious" project. The details of the project are scarce, but, given DONTNOD's track record, it's probably safe to assume the game will be narrative heavy.

The two French studios previously worked together on Vampyr, a PC, PS4, and Xbox One game that we gave an 8.5 in our review last Summer. DONTNOD revealed today that Vampyr has sold over a million copies, making it a great success for both companies.

As mentioned above, details about the new game are few and far between. What we do know is that DONTNOD is calling this project "one of the most ambitious in the history of the publisher and the studio." With releases like Life is Strange and the console version of Divinity: Original Sin under their collective belt, that's exciting news.

One promo image has come out on Twitter from the "What's Next at Focus" event going on today. Like the release, the image is light on details. We can see a man coming out of a cave, looking at a forest. He looks to be bundled up, which implies that, where ever he is, it's cold.

The promo tells us little, but it does seem completely different from anything DONTNOD has put out to date. As the studio grows in size and experience, it's easy to see them continuing to push themselves forward, merging story and gameplay in ways they weren't able to before.

Hopefully, we learn more about this upcoming project in the coming days. However, fans of the partnership do have something more immediate to look forward to as Vampyr is coming to Nintendo Switch sometime this year.
