Even though the next entry in the critically acclaimed series is a while away, Doom fans do have something to look forward to until they get their hands on Eternal. There's a new movie based on the game coming this year, titled Doom Annihilation, and we just got the first trailer for it.

Even though the trailer is only 30 seconds long, it does give viewers a good idea at how the movie will adapt the source materials vast weapons, tools, and demons. This film will see a group of space marines travel to a demon-infested Martian base after receiving a distress call. It's not crazy different from what's presented in-game, so it'll be interesting to see how well the game's adapted. It looks absolutely crazy, but when a game like Doom is your source material, it kind of has to be. Of course, you can make your own opinion by checking out the trailer at the end of the article.

Of course, this isn't the first time that a Doom film was produced. Back in 2005, Karl Urban and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson both starred in another adaptation of the game, which ended up being a huge box office bomb. Despite the previous film, Doom Annihilation will not be a sequel and will instead tell it's own self-contained story.

Doom Annihilation will be getting a "straight-to-DVD" release later this Fall. As of the time of this writing, an exact release date for the title has not yet been announced.
