DOOM Eternal Director: “I’m Excited to Play Animal Crossing”
DOOM Eternal game director talks about the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons and how much he looks forward to the Nintendo exclusive.
During an interview with game director Hugo Martin from id Software reveals his own opinions on the Nintendo Switch exclusive Animal Crossing: New Horizons that shares a March 20th release date with the upcoming DOOM Eternal. And said opinions are refreshingly positive, especially considering how polar opposite these two titles are in genre, graphics, and gameplay.
Martin stated that “I think it’s awesome and it speaks to the amazing diversity that we see in games today. I honestly root for other games and other studios.” He then continued, “I’m so proud to work in the game industry and the fact that two games that are so completely different, getting a ton of press, come out on the same day. It’s an incredible time to be in development and I’m excited to play Animal Crossing.”
But Martin wasn’t done supporting other titles, as he then delved into other games that he enjoyed and looked forward to. “One of my favorite games is Inside and I just thought that it was just as engaging as any other. And God of War. I mean, [between] the two of those games, which one do I like more? I like them both and they’re both completely different.”
