It seems that id Software and Bethesda Softworks were happy with the results of porting the 2016 edition of DOOM to Switch, so they’ve decided to bring the sequel there as well.
Following the gameplay reveal of DOOM Eternal at QuakeCon, Bethesda officially confirmed that the game will be again coming to Nintendo’s handheld and console hybrid alongside releases on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Bethesda brought DOOM to Switch in 2017 and while this version couldn’t run at 60fps like on other platforms, we still found it to be an impressive port despite clearly being the worst way to experience the game. It’s great to see that Bethesda continues to double-down on the Switch as they have been one of the biggest third-party publishers to support the platform. All indications this time around are that the Switch version will be released alongside its platform counterparts as well, so no staggered release this time.
We still aren’t sure when DOOM Eternal will be releasing, but it’s nice to know that gamers on every platform will again be able to get their hands on this one.
