Doom Eternal Review Discussion -- Here Are Our Thoughts

Want to know what we thought of id Software's latest. You can check out our Doom Eternal review discussion where we talk about being the Doomslayer.

March 19, 2020

Are you ready to jam to the sweet sounds of Mick Gordon as you gruesomely take out an invading horde of demons? Well, now is the time as Doom Eternal is out in the wild. Managing Editor Logan Moore (the dude who reviewed the game) and I, News Editor Michael Ruiz (the dude who helped with some coverage for the game) discuss their thoughts in a nearly hour-long Doom Eternal review discussion video. Check it out below.

Doom Eternal is the latest entry in the long-running and critically lauded franchise. Taking place after the events of Doom (2016), the demons have invaded Earth, and it’s the Doomslayer’s job to take them out once and for all. It’s packed with new mechanics, features, and the Battlemode multiplayer mode.

I have beaten Doom Eternal since our review discussion. It may be a bit early, especially with this week being the first big week for game releases form 2020, but id Software’s latest has the potential to be a Game of the Year candidate. The combat is so fluid, smart, and fun. I said it in the video, but the game is a technical marvel. The environments are beautiful and it runs so smoother on a PS4 Pro. I definitely recommend checking it out.

Depending on where you purchased, Doom Eternal now for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. You can check out Logan’s full thoughts in his review where he says, “Doom Eternal proves now more than ever that the grandaddy of the first-person shooter genre is once again the king of them all — and it doesn’t look to be ceding the throne any time soon.”

If you are playing Doom Eternal, you may have seen that classic Doomguy skin. If you want to find out how to unlock it, you can check out our guide and show off those sweet abs, just like on the cover of the original Doom cover.
