Following yesterday's not-so-sneaky tease from the team behind the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account, it has today been confirmed that DOOM Eternal will officially be coming to the subscription service next week.

In a new blog post over on the Xbox website, it was divulged that DOOM Eternal is set to hit Game Pass next week on October 1. For now, id Software's latest shooter will only be coming to Xbox Game Pass for consoles, but PC subscribers will see the game added to their slate as well before the end of 2020.

DOOM Eternal's arrival on Xbox Game Pass only comes about a few weeks before the game's first piece of post-launch DLC is set to arrive. The Ancient Gods - Part 1 is set to release later in the month on October 20 and will see new locations, combat scenarios, and music added to the highly popular shooter.

DOOM Eternal also marks the first Bethesda title that has been added to Xbox Game Pass following Microsoft's acquisition of the publisher. When the purchase was announced earlier this week, Xbox's Phil Spencer said that Bethesda titles would begin making their way to Game Pass at some point in the future. Based on this rollout with DOOM Eternal, it looks as though Microsoft will be adding Bethesda's catalog of titles slowly to the service over time rather than bringing them all over at once.

If you still haven't played DOOM Eternal just yet, Bethesda has also already confirmed that the game will be heading to next-gen consoles in PS5 and Xbox Series X/S later this year. For those who pick up the Series X/S, you should be able to freely play Eternal on those systems as well via Game Pass once they release.
