With Bethesda and id Software preparing for the 25th anniversary of the DOOM series in the appropriately named "Year of DOOM" that will be coming in 2019, those that have yet to experience the 2016 iteration of the game may want to consider taking on the version released for Nintendo Switch last year, as developer Panic Button has added some nifty new features to the game's portable iteration.Panic Button, the makers of the Nintendo Switch version of DOOM, revealed that the Switch version of the game has gotten a new update to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the series. Namely, that update features increased performance for the Switch version, along with the ability to add recent players in multiplayer to your friends list, and the added functionality of in-game video capture. While the Switch version is hardly the prettiest version of the game around (at least compared to how it runs on other consoles and PC), the update should at least give those that have been playing the Switch version since it released last year some exciting new features to look forward to.DOOM is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with the series' next installment, DOOM Eternal, currently in development for those platforms.
