Developed by id software and published by Bethesda Softworks, DOOM, the fourth entry in the main series is seeing some awesome success.

According to SteamSpy, a popular website that publishes video game stats taken directly from the Steam platform, DOOM has just surpassed 2 million copies sold on the platform. This number shouldn't be surprising though as the game has had fairly positive reviews since its release in 2016 and has maintained an 85 on Metacritic. DOOM is a reboot of the franchise and the first major installment since Doom 3 released way back in 2004 on PC, MAC OS and Xbox.

DOOM was originally announced in 2008 as DOOM 4, however the game went through some crazy development cycles and many different builds before being completely restarted in 2011. The game would later be announced officially as DOOM in 2014. Much of DOOM's praise comes from the explosive environments, fast and gory gameplay, and the games kick ass soundtrack, composed by Mick Gordon. He has composed music for Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, Prey, DOOM and Seasons 1 and 2 of Killer Instinct.

DOOM was released on May 12, 2016 across PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. You can check out our review of DOOM, where we awarded the game with an 8 out of 10.
