Today the good folks at Toco Toco TV released another of their lovely interviews/documentaries, featuring Kazutoshi Iida.

Iida-san is well known among those who love retro games as the creator of Doshin the Giant for Nintendo 64DD and Game  Cube (back when cross-generation games still weren’t a thing), and  Tail of the Sun and Aquanaut’s Holiday for the original PlayStation.

While Iida-san currently teaches at Kyoto’s Ritsumeikan University, he hasn’t lost his love for games, as you’ll see in the video below.

It’s probably the most poetic and nostalgic among the videos created by Toco Toco, and it’s most definitely a pleasure to watch. Considering that we’re getting close to Bitsummit, it’s also tempting to wonder whether Iida might be planning his return under the spotlight.

In the meanwhile, if you want to see more of their charming work of Toco Toco, you can check out their videos on SWERY, Goichi Suda, Daisuke Ishiwatari Keiichiro ToyamaUME, Katsura Hashino and Yoko Taro. You can also consider the documentary on indie Japanese developers Branching Paths, created under the creative leadership of the same director, Anne Ferrero.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
