Lighting up the eSports scene each and every year, Dota 2 has grown exponentially and as of last weekend, the MOBA title's popularity hit a fever pitch by breaking a new record on Steam.

In a new record highlighted through Steam's Game and Player Stats page, Dota 2 peaked at over one million players playing online concurrently in one game, with 1,075,464 players online over the course of the Valentine's Day weekend.

The only other title to even come remotely close to that was Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, which still trailed by a wide margin at 433,542 players at its highest peak.

Dota 2 is available on PC, Mac, and Linux through Steam.
