Double D’OH: Mommy’s Best Games Makes a Heartfelt Statement to Pirates

Independent developer Mommy’s Best Games has been in the news recently for their amazingly fun take on the Serious Sam franchise, Serious Sam: Double D. I gave it an absolutely glowing review, and even a couple weeks later, I don’t regret the high review; I still find myself playing it from time to time, and still have great fun with it.

Unfortunately, it looks as if the pirates have gotten to Mommy’s Best, as they’ve made a blog post pleading with those who’ve pirated it to, at the very least, donate money directly to the dev studio. In the post, they don’t truly bear any ill will, but do ask that anyone who downloaded a crack of Double D donate whatever they can to Mommy’s Best, and all will be fine.

There’s no anger, no malicious speak in their post, just class and pure honesty. That should be reason enough for those pirating the game to even donate a dollar to Mommy’s Best for one of the most viscerally fun games of the year. Head to the blog to donate directly to them, especially if you love the game. Or, you can just purchase it on Steam.

His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
