It may seem bizarre now, but for a brief time in the final decade of the last century, the gaming industry made a shift away from beautifully created  16-bit graphics in favor of full motion video titles. These games would use footage of a live cast in order to tell an interactive story. 1993's Double Switch was one such title.

Originally announced earlier this year, Limited Run Games and Screaming Villains will be resurrecting Double Switch for release on PlayStation 4 and Steam under the guise of Double Switch: 25th Anniversary Edition. Set in a mysterious mansion called the Edwards Arms, the game puts you in control of the property's security system. From here you can set off a number of traps such as swinging chandeliers and trap doors to protect the tenants from the game's surprisingly acrobatic villains.

In a similar vein to the controversial Night Trap which also saw a 25th anniversary release this year, you will have access to a number of camera's situated around the grounds of the Edward Arms which can be used to keep a close eye on the cast as the drama unfolds revealing that one of the eccentric characters is actually a murderer.

Double Switch: 25th Anniversary Edition is coming soon for PlayStation 4 and Steam. The physical release will be available from Limited Run Games' official website between 2 November and 16 November 2018.
