El Dia recently re-revealed the remake of PS4 and PS Vita of its classic visual novel Doukoku Soshite... (which translates to "Sorrow and..."), and today they released the first trailer.

Originally released for Sega Saturn in 1998, Doukoku Soshite... is a horror visual novel written by Sakiko Kojima, and featuring the iconic retro-flavored character design by Mamoru Yokota.

The remake will be released on April 26th, 2018 in Japan for PS4 and PS Vita, and there is no information for now on whether it'll ever get a western localization. And yes, the date in the trailer is wrong, since it says April 26th, 2017. Update: this has since been fixed.

This was actually announced almost one year ago, but it's finally coming to fruition. El Dia has been working on remastering its classic visual novels since 2016, with the popular Desire.

Considering that the original was never localized, the chances to see this released in the west are probably pretty slim, but I'm still gonna hope, mostly because I adore Mamoru Yokota's art style.
