Downloadable Content for Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, and Band Hero to Go the Way of the Dodo

By David Rodriguez

March 19, 2014

After nine years, it appears that the final nail is being placed in the music gaming coffin. Franchises like Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, and Band Hero, as well as their competitors in the Rock Band franchise, all had their time in the sun, but the gaming community has essentially moved on. Sony’s recent announcement of a VR headset is an indication of where the industry is currently headed.

Downloadable content for the first three games I mentioned; Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, and Band Hero, will no longer be available after March 31st, 2014. Previously purchased DLC will be unaffected, and all DLC between now and then will enjoy huge discounts.

Grab what you can now, while you still can.
