It was reported earlier this week that Dragon Age 4 (not confirmed title) would finally be appearing tonight at The Game Awards, and that's exactly what happened -- although details are still sparse.

BioWare released the first trailer for the untitled next Dragon Age game during the show. The video is only about 60 seconds long and doesn't feature any gameplay footage or even a title for that matter. Instead, it shows a mural that features seems to feature a dragon and a lone character surrounded by fire with an object standing between the two. The trailer ends simply with the hashtag #TheDreadWolfRises.

After the trailer's debut at The Game Awards, BioWare posted a new message on their official site that confirmed the project is indeed related to Dragon Age. Even though this post also didn't reveal much, the following statement was shared:

"While we won’t be sharing any details for now, I can tell you we have been building a new team around a core of Dragon Age veterans, people I’ve worked with on Dragon Age, Jade Empire, and some of whom I’ve worked with since the Baldur’s Gate days."

We still have no idea when this new Dragon Age will release or what platforms it will come to so the only conclusion that can be drawn from this announcement is that we at least now know there is a Dragon Age game in the pipeline. If this week's report is correct though, Dragon Age 4 is on pace to release in three years, but we'll see if that holds true.

As for now, you can find the new teaser trailer attached below.
