Today, BioWare released a short, animated video detailing a classic tale from its fantasy universe, Dragon Age.

In the video, which you can see below, we hear the tale of Corsa the Jackal, a cautionary story about honesty and how faulse promises can lead to one’s untimely end. Much like many of the stories from Dragon Age, The Tale of Corsa the Jackal utilizes familiar dark topes and ends with a cruel twist.

According to BioWare’s official blog, The Tale of Corsa the Jackal is “a favorite from Bedtime Stories for Good Children by Sister Marigold.” The story was adapted from one that was presented in the book Dragon Age: The World of Thedas Volume II, a guidebook to the Dragon Age universe published by Dark Horse Comics.

In a recent interview, BioWare Creative Director Mike Laidlaw briefly mentioned the future of the Dragon Age franchise, revealing that “something is happening” with it, but without providing any further detail regarding what that “something” might be.

Back in May, Sunless Sea creator Alexis Kennedy was also revealed to be working on “a bit of lore” for Dragon Age.

It’s clear that something Dragon Age-related is brewing over at BioWare. If these recent tidbits are any indication, we may be soon preparing for a much larger announcement.
