One of the highlights of the recent Battlefield 4 was the announcement that the game would be running on the previously unannounced Frostbite 3 engine. General manager of both BioWare Edmonton and Montreal, Aaryn Flynn, added on Twitter, “for everyone who’s been asking after the #BF4 reveal, #DA3 and the next Mass Effect are also using Frostbite 3. It’s awesome.” It sure is some news that makes your imagination run wild.

Dragon Age III: Inquisition is expected to be released around the end of this year, while the next entry in the Mass Effect 4 is only confirmed to ┬ábe in early stages of development, the earliest possible unveiling of the title could come as early as this year. Originally, both games were confirmed to be utilizing the Frostbite 2 engine (Battlefield 3, Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel); possibly for the basis of development.
