According to the Japanese blog  ryokutya2089, one of the next characters coming to Arc System Works' Dragon Ball FighterZ might just be Goku from Dragon Ball GT. The information appears to have leaked from upcoming Japanese magazines. Of course, this may come as a disappointment to some fans as there are already three Goku characters included in the 34-character roster. This would be the first time the Dragon Ball GT series would be getting any representation in FighterZ, and as many fans probably know, the GT timeline is not canon anymore.

In Dragon Ball GT, Goku is reverted back into a child throughout the large majority of the series. Strangely enough, he does revert back into an adult when he achieves Super Saiyan 4, and then back to a child when going to his base form. It's a bit weird. But Super Saiyan 4 is genuinely cool so that should be neat to see with Dragon Ball FighterZ's absolutely gorgeous visuals. It seems a bit odd to take on GT Goku as opposed to the lovable and true Kid Goku from the original canonical Dragon Ball series. GT takes place years after the last episode of Dragon Ball Z and is widely considered the weakest part of the franchise. I loved it as a kid but have never delved back into it since then. I'll never forget Vegeta's mustache...

Recently, Bandai Namco started rolling out characters for Dragon Ball FighterZ's second season pass. Videl and Jiren were the first characters to make their debut, and Dragon Ball Super: Broly's Gogeta and Broly will join the roster near the end of the season. The season pass can be purchased for $24.99 or you can purchase individual characters as they release for $4.99. For fans not too invested in the fighting game scene, you can also look forward to CyberConnect 2's untitled Dragon Ball RPG.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can also check out Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission, an upcoming card game making its way onto Nintendo Switch and PC on April 5.
