Dragon Ball Super Chapter 89 Spoilers

The upcoming chapter is titled "A Rival Appears," and it starts with Trunks trying to explore the disk he found during the Mount Butterfly incident. After a few failed attempts to bypass the security of the disk, he decides to use Bulma's computer and sneaks into her lab. He finally succeeds in breaking the security and finds the blueprints of a creature, which is Cell, in the larval stage. He tries to find out more about it, but suddenly the computer crashes due to a virus, so he removes the disk.

In the meantime, Bulma arrives with Bulla, and watching Trunks intervening with her computer, she comments that he is just like Vegeta in breaking her things. Bulla manages to fix the computer, and Bulma comments that Bulla is much more talented than Trunks at her age. Bulma informs Trunks that Mai is joining Blue High School, and she wants him to walk to school with her. Trunks is on cloud nine hearing this, and thus he joins Mai, and together they go to the school. His schoolmates try to get a chance to talk to Mai, but Trunks shoos them away.

Bulma made Mai join the school as she didn't want people to ask her why she didn't go to school despite being a teenager. Mai introduces her as the new transfer student, and the teacher asks Trunks to familiarize her with the school, to which he happily agrees. Skale asks her if she has a boyfriend, but Trunks interferes before she can reply. The teacher then introduces the class to a new transfer student, Beta, and Rulah is assigned to make him familiar with the school.

In the next panel, we see Trunks and his classmates playing basketball, and Trunks manoeuvres his skills to impress Mai, but Beta takes the ball from him and approaches the goal. Trunks use his super speed to block him, and everyone is surprised by his extraordinary speed. Beta still manages to score a goal, and while other girls think Beta is cool, Mai looks at him with beady eyes. A close-up shot at Beta's eyes reveals that everything is being recorded and sent to his creator, Dr. Hedo, who is currently at a hideout near the port. He is watching everything through Beta's eyes.

Hedo asks Alpha Android if Trunks is the one who beat them and took the disk, but they only remember a guy with blonde hair. Hedo sighs at not installing the surveillance cameras at the Mount Butterfly factory. The only thing known about the enemy is that he's from Blue Hal High School and has superhuman abilities. In a conversation between Mai and Trunks, she reveals that Beta is an Android and not one like Android 18. Trunk notices that he doesn't feel any life energy from Beta; thus, he concludes that he's a friend of zombies and he's there to kill him. Trunks is concerned that his Saiyaman X1 identity might not be revealed.

Hedo orders Beta to check if Trunks has any superpowers, so he makes various attempts to figure out, but Trunks tackles all of them naturally. Both Beta and Hedo are annoyed at this rate, and in the maths class, the teacher asks Trunks and Beta to answer a question, to which the former fails, and the latter can. Hedo celebrates his success, although it's unrelated to the mission. After school, Beta plans to drop some blocks at Trunks, and the latter is worried that if he dodges, they will hit Mai. The scene then shifts to Goten, who lifts a truck to take out a tennis ball, and it comes to Beta's notice and now he's almost confirmed that Goten was the one to beat Alpha Androids.

On Hedo's orders, Beta rips off his shirt and wears his superhero suit, and Goten considers him a cosplayer. He then introduces himself as, "My name is Beta No. 1; I'm Dr. Hedo's masterpiece." Goten says that he wants to go home as he's getting late, but Beta No. 1 attacks him, which he easily dodges. Goten wants to take the fight outside school, but Beta disagrees, and everyone is watching them fight. All Beta wants back is the disk, but Goten doesn't know anything about it. Meanwhile, Trunks tell Mai to hold his bag, making an excuse to go to the toilet. As Beta charges a serious attack and Goten feels cornered, Trunks arrive and stop him, and Skale recognizes Saiyaman as the new hero in town.

Alphas recognize Saiyaman X1, and Trunks give the transforming watch to Goten and tells him to run away. Beta catches Saiyaman X1, and the latter throws him into the schoolyard and then hits him with his "Down Cycle Kick" attack. Mai wonders if she knows X1 as he feels familiar. Hedo is impressed with X1's skills and costume, and then he orders Hedo to use "that." Beta then presses a button on his belt and activates the Battle Jacket, which he calls Beta No. 2. Beta 2 launches a missile, and X1 can't dodge it as it will then hit the people, so he diverts it towards the sea instead.

X1 kicks Beta 2, and the impact makes Mai fall down, resulting in the opening of Trunks' bag, and the disk drops out of the bag. It comes to Beta and Hedo's notice, and Mai puts it back in the bag and runs away. Beta catches Mai, and as Trunks is about to save her, Beta 2 launches missiles from his buttocks at the students, but despite X1 destroying them all, the missiles don't seem to stop. Beta 2 then separates the lower half of his body to keep X1 busy and flies to the sky holding Mai with his upper half. X2 arrives on time and destroys the lower half of Beta 2's body, stopping the missiles, and Hedo is surprised to see another Saiyaman. Trunks use his "Pressurized Steam: High Pressure" attack, which destroys Beta 2 Battle Jacket, leaving him in underwear.

Mai falls from the sky, but X1 catches her, and his red scarf reminds her of Future Trunks. X1 and X2 make their signature poses, and some students consider it as a promotion for an upcoming movie. X1 and X2 then fly off, and Trunks comes back running to Mai. Upon hearing how she feels about X1, Trunks is about to confess it was him, but Goten stops him. She wishes to meet him again, and in the meantime, Beta returns to the hideout. Hedo is completely obsessed with X1 and X2 and asks if he got their autograph, but Beta reminds him that they are their enemies. The chapter ends with Hedo developing a stronger Android, and he intends to copy X2's Red Cape, considering it cool.
