Vegeta's New Form Explained

In Chapter 75, Granolah tries his powerful attacks to bring down Vegeta in his new form. However, Vegeta takes those attacks head-on, so Granolah asks the Saiyam why isn't he dodging these blasts, as Goku did in his Ultra Instinct form. And that's when Vegeta explains that his new power is nothing like Goku's Ultra Instinct.

Vegeta replies, "Kakarot's body may have a mind of its own, but I'm all ego. In fact, go ahead and call this Ultra Ego." He reveals that God of Destruction Beerus is the one who taught him about this power.

Finally, Vegeta explains that this new 'Ultra Ego' form gives him more power after taking damage in a battle. That's the main reason why he wasn't dodging Granolah's attack. Facing attacks without dodging increases Vegeta's lust for battle, thus, giving him more power. Vegeta confirms this by saying, "The thing is, the hotter my battle soul burns, the stronger I grow."

In a way, this new form is more connected with Saiyan's warrior spirit. However, Vegeta names it 'Ultra Ego' to compare it directly with Goku's 'Ultra Instinct.' That's because, unlike Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego awakens only when the user gains the power of destruction.
