Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z Gets An Explosive New Trailer

Namco Bandai released a new trailer for their upcoming battle-filled title Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z (gotta love that originality) for  PS3, Xbox 360 and PS Vita.

According to the trailer, Battle of Z‘s story mode starts from the Saiyan saga and only ends at the final battle between Goku and Frieza on Namek (which is of course a clever ploy to ring out as many sequels as humanly possible). I must admit, the idea of four player co-op and an open world in a Dragon Ball Z game is pretty appealing since almost every other title offered the same linear experience. I also loved how the plot unfolded in-game instead of static portraits and voice bubbles.

The open world potential reminds me of Budokai 3‘s open map–which happens to be my favorite DBZ game. Hopefully this game delivers what it promises.
