New Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Screenshots Show Returning Characters

Bandai Namco still has not confirmed whether or not Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will go past the Frieza Saga.

Bandai Namco has released a new batch of screenshots from their upcoming action RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. The images show a mix of story cutscenes and boss battles as well as a couple of characters that we’re seeing for the first time. You can check them all out for yourself down below.

One interesting thing about these new screenshots is the fact that we get to see both Dende and Dodoria for the first time. If you’re familiar with the Frieza Saga in Dragon Ball Z, you know that Goku has yet to arrive on Namek before the Ginyu Force arrives.

In my E3 2019 interview, the developers would not say whether or not other characters would be playable during moments where Goku isn’t around. However, the game could also just show what’s happening to other characters while Goku isn’t around to help them out. As for the rest of the images, they just give us a deeper look at things we have already seen.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a single-player action RPG that focuses on the story of Goku and the rest of the Z fighters. The game isn’t a traditional open-world title but it will contain several vast areas for you to explore. For more on the game, you can check out my preview from E3 2019 where I got to explore one of these areas and fight a boss battle against Raditz.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is launching for PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in early 2020.
