Bandai Namco just revealed something really neat about Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. As you progress throughout the game and beat Frieza and Cell after their arcs, you'll be able to revive them.

This works by searching the dragon balls and asking Shenron to do it. This is one of the things you can wish for when summoning Shenron, and you can only get one wish at a time. This means we'll have to hunt the seven dragon balls multiple times in the game.

Both Frieza and Cell have their own respective short sidequest and short scenario unlocked after you've revived them. Clearing these will net you Soul Emblems and some EXP. We detailed the Soul Emblem system in a previous article.

This is really cool and the kind of alternate scenarios I wanna see in a Dragon Ball RPG. I'm really looking forward to seeing how much depth this has and how far the game goes with it. And I'm looking forward to hearing more Ryusei Nakao and Norio Wakamoto in one of their best roles.

Bandai Namco specifically said the scenarios and sidequests are "short" though, so we probably shouldn't expect too much. Anyway, the more we learn about this game the more hyped I am. I don't think I'll play it at launch though as I've already got so many games on my plate.

A brand new key visual showing many iconic characters from Dragon Ball and some of their transformations was published by Bandai Namco. It even has some pretty niche faces like that light-eating alien guy who worked for Babidi. The visual is included below.

One of the previous gameplay videos featured Gohan Vs Cell. We also got another gameplay video showing Majin Vegeta And here's the latest trailer.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be launching on January 17 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you like our coverage and wanna support us, you can preorder it on Amazon.
