Data miners/leakers @GMatrixGames & @Shiina have reported on Twitter that Goku Black from Dragon Ball will most likely be coming to Fortnite in the near future. This news was confirmed shortly after the dataminers @Shiina and @FN_Assist recently discovered a male skin in Fortnite, codenamed "DualParadox," which is rumored to be cel-shaded, has two variants, and wields a dual pickaxe. Cel-shading is an animation technique that gives objects a smoother, cartoon-like appearance, and is commonly used in 2D animation, leading to speculation that the skin is based on a specific anime.RELATED: Fortnite: Begun The Clone Wars Have Star Wars QuestsThough not officially confirmed, the identity of the character discovered by the data miners has been hinted at by the distinctive pink hair. One Twitter user, @1UPBoy, already speculated since the DualParadox leak that the character was Goku Black from Dragon Ball, and this was further supported by the fact that there is only one character with pink hair in the Dragon Ball universe, and in recent anime in general. It is believed that the skin will have two variations, one with black hair and another with pink hair, representing the character's powered transformation, similar to Goku's Super Saiyan transformation with yellow hair.@1UPBoy and @FN_Assist also pointed out an interesting coincidence that adds weight to the speculation. It was noted that Japan's Goku Day, which was officially designated by the Japanese Anniversary Association in 2015, is approaching. The date was originally chosen because Goku's name can be read in Japanese as "5/Go" and "9/Ku" in Japanese, making it a fitting calendar tribute to the iconic character who has had a significant impact on the anime industry and saved the world multiple times.

Fortnite is also no stranger to Dragon Ball collaborations, particularly Dragon Ball Super, the most recent season of the popular anime series (in which Goku Black first appeared). Since August 2022, fans have been able to use various skins of beloved characters from the show such as Goku, Beerus, Vegeta, Bulma, Gohan, and Piccolo, as well as Goku's signature Nimbus cloud, inspired by the Monkey King in the Chinese novel, Journey to the West.

Hence is why it makes perfect sense to bring the antagonists from Super to Fortnite now. Goku Black was the first villain introduced in the show after Beerus (who was more of a sparring partner than an antagonist), but his inclusion opens up the possibility of adding more characters from the iconic arc that followed Goku Black's debut (the Tournament of Power), and it's not far-fetched now to speculate that other antagonists like Giren and Califula might be added to Fortnite in the near future.
