Square Enix published new screenshots for Dragon Quest Builders 2 on the game's official site, explaining some of the systems present in the game.

Using Builder Tools like hammers and hoes, the player can build up their own farming fields. You can also build a tall watering tower on your fields, allowing you to quickly water them without having to run over to them one at a time. I don't know about you, but I always thought there's something really endearing about growing-up vegetables in video games, so I'm really digging this.

As you work with NPCs and become friendlier with them, you can earn Builder Points, represented by yellow hearts. These points can be spent using the Builders' Bell, allowing you to upgrade the NPCs' working speed, get even more NPCs and unlock new furniture to build.

Square Enix also shared screenshots showing new NPCs and monsters and showcased the game during Tokyo Game Show 2018 with live gameplay. You can also watch the opening sequence of the game and more gameplay here.

Dragon Quest Builders 2: Destruction God Malroth and the Empty Island will launch for PS4 and Switch in Japan on December 20th. The game has no western release announced for now.
