Nintendo announced in their latest financial results that Square Enix’s Dragon Quest builders 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch in the west in 2019. It’s safe to assume the game will release on PlayStation 4 as well, just like in Japan.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 has the player take control of a hero or heroine who gets stranded on an empty island. The player must find materials to build a home and town on the island, meet new characters and party members, and explore the neighboring islands.

The game also has a very exciting farming system that really speaks to Story of Seasons and Rune Factory fans like me. There’s also a really good-looking online multiplayer mode, allowing four players to play together. You can read about the online multiplayer mode here and here.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 should also get a demo in Japan soon. The game releases in Japan on December 20th.

The first Dragon Quest Builders released for Switch, Vita and PS4. You can read our review about it here.
