Today Square Enix released a large bunch of screenshots of the upcoming Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Quest Builders.

We get a look at a few shots from cutscenes, the male and female heroes that you can select, village rebuilding in the story mode, alongside NPCs, monsters, and quests.

More images show the free build mode, in which you can collect materials, give an outlet for your wild imagination, and fight massive battles against monsters.

The Switch version also has a baby panther mount that can let you collect "dot" materials when you jump on monsters while mounted. Using those materials and a special workbench shaped like a Dragon Quest NES cartridge, you can create special 3D dot items reproducing the games of old.

Last, but not least, we get to see the slime eyes an slime mouths items, the recipes of which are an early purchase bonus for the Switch version in Japan.

Dragon Quest Builders is currently available on PS4 and PS Vita, and will release on Nintendo Switch in the west on February 9th. If you want to see more, you can check out a new trailer and plenty of gampelay. You can also read our review, to learn our impressions of the original versions.
