The demo of Dragon Quest Builders was released today on the Japanese PSN, and that finally gives us a chance to take a good look at the PS Vita version, which has been almost invisible before today.

As usual, we took screenshots of roughly the same scenes on PS4 and PS Vita, with the caveat that the maps are at least partly procedural even within the same version, so trees and terrain blocks will be in different positions.

You can check out the gallery below, with each pairing of screenshots in sequence.

The PS4 version obviously benefits from higher resolution, with smoother edges, and better overal definition and textures. Draw distance is also higher on PS4, and decorations like trees and grass also look better when far away, indicating more detailed LOD models.

That said, the PS Vita version still look quite good, even if I have to say that graphics aside, controlling the position of your character and of the building blocks is much smoother on PS4, that feels really snappy and precise thanks to the DualShock 4, which is obviously superior to the Vita's sticks.

That said, given the popularity of the PS Vita version of Minecraft, and of the Dragon Quest series on portable consoles, it's very likely that the game will sell a lot more on PS Vita than on PS4 in Japan, even if we'll have to wait February 2nd's Media Create release to know for sure.
