Dragon Quest fans are finally getting their own tailor-made characters to main in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Multiple Dragon Quest hero characters will be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's roster as DLC in Summer 2019. Technically, the heroes will count as one character though, as they're different skins, not echoes. We've got Dragon Quest's iconic hero Dai,  Dragon Quest IV's hero, Dragon Quest VIII's hero and Dragon Quest XI's hero.

The trailer gives us a look at the Hero's moves. Slimes will be added as well as what looks like an assist trophy. The Hero's Final Smash also shows all the other Dragon Quest protagonists not present as skins joining him and powering up his sword. It's quite similar to Megaman's Final Smash.

Dragon Quest is by far the biggest RPG franchise in Japan, and yet surprisingly, none of its representants were included in Smash Bros. yet. This finally changes today and this is historical. The game will definitely see a new boost in sales in Japan when The Hero launches in Summer.
