The Dragon Quest series has long held a devote fan base in Japan with its colorful and charming RPG action, though Western gamers devoted to the series (or wanting to play it for the first time) don’t have to miss out as two of the series’ popular entries are heading to the 3DS in 2016.

During Nintendo’s most recent Nintendo Direct broadcast, the company revealed the both Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past and Dragon Quest VIII: The Journey of the Cursed King will be making their way to the Nintendo 3DS in 2016 for North America, after previously being announced for release in Japan.

While no specific release dates were currently revealed just yet, Dragon Quest VII is expected to arrive for the 3DS in summer 2016, while Dragon Quest VIII should follow some time after that in 2016 as well.
