The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu included a small message from Square Enix about the upcoming Dragon Quest XI, that is scheduled to be released at an unannounced date for PS4, 3DS and Nintendo Switch.

The message mentions that the stage event coming on December 17th will provide a "follow-up report" on the game, but it also explains that more information about "fellow adventurers" and "games systems that fans care about" will continue to come in 2017.

At the moment we know that something will be shared during a livestreamed stage event on December 17th, announced among Square Enix's rich Jump Festa line-up, but it's probable that the bulk of the info is going to come next year.

Dragon Quest XI was announced on July 28th, 2015 for PS4 and 3DS, while a Nintendo Switch version was recently confirmed. It still doesn’t have a firm release window for any of its platform, and honestly I wouldn't expect to hear about it during the upcoming event. Yet, I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
