Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age has been yet another big success for Square Enix. The original version was solid, but the enhanced edition that came out for Nintendo Switch last year really pushed it over the top. To date, the two different versions have cleared 6 million units shipped for the Japanese giant. And the good news doesn't stop there. Soon, non-Nintendo players will have a chance to hop in on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Check out the latest trailer below.

Dragon Quest XI S brings a few nifty changes to the base game. Players have access to extra content in the form of character-specific scenarios. These let you learn even more about your traveling companions. Plus, you get to choose exactly how you want to play. Whether you want gorgeous 3D visuals or prefer the old-school look of 16-bit Dragon Quest, this game lets you flip between them. Square also has both English and Japanese audio, along with two different soundtracks for you to try out.

Of course, Switch players know all this already. That said, knowing that it's finally coming to more consoles at the end of this year is awesome. If those sales numbers don't jump up a bit this holiday, I'll be very surprised.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edtion is available now on Nintendo Switch. The game comes to PC, PS4, and Xbox One this holiday. So far, there's been no word on PS5 or Xbox Series X versions, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see it show up on those consoles in the future.
