Could Dragon Strike in Genshin Impact Be Fixed by miHoYo In 1.4?
Dragon Strike might get removed from Genshin Impact
miHoYo published all of the patch notes for Genshin Impact 1.4 Invitation of Windblume, and most notably hinted Dragon Strike, the incredibly hard Plunging Attack technique we explained, could be removed from the game. Here are all the details.
It looks like Dragon Strike as it stands right now is more akin to a bug rather than an intended feature and technique. And could be removed in a future update of Genshin Impact. In the 1.4 patch notes, the development team mentioned that 1.4 fixes an issue where some characters who have not hit a target with an attack, can jump while returning to a standby pose, and thus perform a Plunging Attack.
This is slightly different, but very similar to how Dragon Strike works. Moreover, miHoYo added it is paying close attention to the possible impact or other methods which can produce the same effect. And that if these will be changed or removed from the game, we players will be notified as soon as possible.

Is Dragon Strike staying in Genshin Impact Ver 1.4?
Right now, we can only wait and see to check for ourselves once 1.4 has been released. For now though, what miHoYo is fixing seems to be slightly different, and characters such as Diluc and Razor will still be able to enjoy Dragon Strike. However, we don’t know if it’ll last.
Japanese players are equally worried, as ドラゴンストライク 修正 “Dragon Strike fix” has been showing up a lot on Twitter.
Personally speaking, I definitely imagined this scenario, and I’ve been wary not to take into account Dragon Strike for future builds. I’d also point out miHoYo isn’t “nerfing” the Dragon Strike technique. It’s about whether it was intended to be a technique or not in the first place.
Only time will tell whether miHoYo will keep Dragon Strike in Genshin Impact or not. Besides being powerful, and useful to dodge attacks, it’s also a very cool technique to pull, so hopefully it’ll stay. Perhaps one compromise miHoYo could implement is reducing the power of successive Plunging Attacks? And make characters like Xiao immune to that reduction.
