Is Dragon’s Crown’s Developer Teasing a New Game That Will Enrage the Pundits?

Rememer Dragon’s Crown? It was doubtlessly one of the best PS3 and PS Vita games of 2013, but it drove the pundits absolutely crazy due to its art style that shown rather extreme bodies (even if many seemed to notice the trait only in the ladies for some reason).

Vanillaware now renewed its official website with a new picture, which you can see above, simply reciting “Blast Off Vanillaware 2015.”

While the shapes of the bodies seem to be quite different compared to Dragon’s Crown, and more reminicent of Muramasa, the positioning of said bodies is bound to drive a few pundits crazy again.

This could be the tease of a new IP, possibly set in a science fiction universe and seemingly featuring weaponized flying robot girls.

Of course it could also just be a New Year greeting picture, but even if it might not be strictly related to the contents of a new game, the “blast off” wording does seem to indicate that something is coming this year.

If you ask me, it looks definitely interesting, and George Kamitani’s unique style shines as usual. It’ll be very interesting to see if anything will come out of this.
