Draugen Uses Virtual Reality to Drive you mad

on March 31, 2014 7:17 PM

Slowly descent into madness. Draugen is a survival horror game that promises to take complete advantage of upcoming VR headsets.

The entire population of a small Scandinavian town mysteriously vanishes and you, a lone American scientists, need to piece together what happens. Oh yeah, to make matters worse, you’re slowly losing your mind.

Developer Red Thread Games had recently received a grant for $144,000 from the Norwegian Film Institute in order to make Draugen. a reality.

Draugen is currently in development for PC, Mac, Linux and next-gen systems for release sometime in 2015. It will be interesting to see what VR headsets like the Oculus Rift or Project Morpheus will add to the survival horror genre.
