Today Sony Computer Entertainment briefly made Driveclub's PlayStation Plus Edition available on the PlayStation Store with no announcement, and just as suddenly removed it shortly afterwards. The game could be found  here, and it came with the following features and a download size of 14.7 Gigabytes:

  • Every DRIVECLUBâ„¢ feature: from online multiplayer matches and challenges, to offline solo racing, Tour events, customisation, replays, Photo Mode and more.
  • The option to create your own races with full control over the time of day and the weather.
  • Access to all 13 tracks in India, one of six locations in DRIVECLUBâ„¢.
  • 15 cars for your garage.
  • A full set of 27 PlayStation® trophies, including the precious Platinum.

The sudden disappearance from the store and the lack of an announcement from Sony or Evolution Studios indicates that someone at Sony probably pushed a button too early, but it might also mean that the wait could be close to its end.

That said, the price of the PlayStation Plus full upgrade has now been dropped to $24.99.

Update: Evolution Studios made a statement on Twitter, explaining that the release was indeed premature.
