(Update: This article has been revised to correct some factual inaccuracies regarding the conditions of Rodgers's departure - we apologize for any confusion or misinterpretation.)

Luck has not been on the side of the PS4-exclusive Driveclub, as the game suffered a delay following its missed target release for the PS4 back in November and little has been mentioned for the title since. Adding to the challenges of working on the game has been the departure of the game's director, Col Rodgers, with the news having officially been revealed following Rodger's departure in February.

Rodgers was reported to have left Driveclub developer Evolution Studios in February with news of his leaving the studio having been officially confirmed, although details are that his departure was for "purely personal reasons," with no involvement having been made from the recent layoffs of a number of Sony's first-party studios, such as Evolution, Guerrilla Cambridge, and others. Rodgers instead left the developer and Driveclub to form his own indie development studio, called Big Red Switch Games, and to begin work on various independently-produced projects.

Evolution Studios commented that development on Driveclub will continue as scheduled despite the layoffs and redundancies at the studio.

Driveclub is currently aiming for a Spring 2014 release - stay tuned for more information.
