Today Driveclub Developer Evolution Studios published a teaser video showcasing the first DLC car for February. While the video does not show the car, but just the road as it slides under it by at the insane speed of 242 mph. You can see the video for yourself at the bottom of the post.
While the car is indeed not shown, the top speed is basically all we need, pegging (with a high degree of probability) the new entry in Driveclub‘s growing garage as the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, which was indeed clocked during a test drive in May 2007 while running at 242 mph .
Built by SSC North America, formerly Shelby Supercars, it held the world record for top speed for production cars until the arrival in 2010 of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
The SSC Ultimate Aero TT is a beast powered by a monstrous V8 able to generate 1287 bhp at 6075 rpm, and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.78 seconds.
Of course we have no way to be sure until we actually see the car, which, according to Paul Rustchynsky, will be shown tomorrow. I guess we have to wait about 25 hours to see if I’m right.
If the new car is indeed the Ultimate Aero, it’ll also be interesting to see if it’ll come together with its successor, the SSC Tuatara.
