DualCast Level 9 – Sega RPGs, Graphics and Leveling Up!

In this week’s episode of the DualCast we delve into what makes two of the most recent Sega RPGs so great – we talk about Valkyria Chronicles and the sequel(s) it spawned, as well as the Phantasy Star legacy and how it has changed down throughout the years. After that, we get into a discussion about how important HD and 3D technologies are to our enjoyment of RPGs. Finally, we wrap up with a quick discussion about how important the mechanic of leveling up is to RPG progression, and what happens when you don’t have it. Oh, and pay no attention to our seeming fascination with comparing RPGs with women…that was completely…yeah…I plead the fifth.
