2021 has been, undeniably, a rough year for many which have presented a host of challenges across the board. The games industry has faced substantial upheaval in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic but this still, 2021 stood out as one of the best years yet for gaming, and there is a lot worth celebrating.

As is tradition, alongside our official staff nominations for our GOTY Awards, we also opened up voting to our readers so that they could give their input on Game of the Year – Readers’ Choice and Most Anticipated Game.

Before we unveil the winners, we want to thank you all for voting and taking part and also for your continued support and readership, especially in a year that’s been as challenging as 2021.

As for the Readers choice for most anticipated game, the list was a strong one with titles that included Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring competing against each other. In the end, God of War Ragnorok came out on top as the game many readers are excited about, and who could blame them.
