Happy Sunday and welcome to this new episode of DualShockers Weekly.
This week was, like the previous one, particularly full of announcements, especially with the coverage of the Xbox Spring Showcase and the Nintendo Direct. Is there any particular announcement that got you really excited? Did you get into the beta testing for the upcoming PS4 “Musashi” software update? Did you spend your weekend trying out Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End‘s multiplayer mode? Is there any game that you are really looking forward to that was featured this week? Feel free to share it with us into the comments.
That being said, here are the five stories that were the most popular between February 28th and March 5th:
During the Xbox Spring Showcase, Xbox Division Head Phil Spencer focused on what Microsoft calls the “Universal Windows Platform”: bringing Xbox One and Windows 10 together under the same ecosystem. In an article published in The Guardian this week, Epic Games Founder Tim Sweeney heavily criticized Microsoft’s move and argued that it would go against the whole PC industry and gamer themselves. Phil Spencer took the time to answer to Sweeney’s accusations on Twitter: you can read the whole story in the article.
The beta testing phase for the PS4 upcoming software update 3.50 “Musashi” has already started. The Japanese arm of Sony Computer Entertainment shared through a press release the first screenshots showcasing the new keys features the software update will be bringing. In case you did not get into the beta, you can get a glimpse of what you should expect in the article.
It didn’t take long for the lucky people who managed to get into beta testing phase for the upcoming PS4 system software update “Musashi”, to share more information about it on social media. If you want to see more new features and English screenshots, you can check them out in the article.
Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment launched this Friday the stress test for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End‘s multiplayer mode. This stress test brought a new element that wasn’t included in the closed beta which is a beautiful “rooftops” night map. Our very own Giuseppe got to try out (and fail miserably at doing so) the multiplayer mode: you can check out plenty of 1080p screenshots from this new map as well as from the Island and Madagascar City maps.
In a recent survey, Sony Computer Entertainment mentioned a few new features that might be considered in the future for the PlayStation Plus service. What you may not know is that these features are actually already offered in a few countries like Italy, under the name PlayStation Plus Bonus. This survey could hint that the house of PlayStation might be considering extending the service to other countries. You can read the whole details in the article.
