DuckTales: Remastered, Dragon's Crown, and Black Ops II Dominate PlayStation Network's August Sales

Sony has revealed the sales rankings for games offered through their PlayStation Network service for the month of August. The complete list of rankings including PS Mobile top-sellers can be found on the PlayStation Blog.

Despite mediocre to lukewarm reviews, DuckTales: Remastered emerged as the number one game amongst other PSN/PS3 games in the month, followed by PAYDAY 2 and 2012’s Journey in the number two and three spots.

It is no surpise that the highly addictive (and slightly controversial) Dragon’s Crown was the highest seller for PS Vita. Rayman Origins and The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season followed closely behind. As for PS3 Add-Ons, that list was dominated by downloadable content for 2012’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II, including Vengeance, Nuketown Zombies Map, and Uprising – in that order.

Top Classic and PSP titles were lead by Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Star Wars: Battlefront II, respectively. I would wager that increased interest in these titles is related to the impending release of Grand Theft Auto V and the announcement of a DICE-developed Star Wars: Battlefront title, which will hit next-generation consoles in 2015.
