Earlier this week, Techland teased that its zombie-killing game Dying Light would soon be crossing over with Left 4 Dead 2 but at the time, details on how the collaboration would work weren't disclosed. As of now, the event in-game for Dying Light is live and we know more about how both games are coming together.

In a limited-time event lasting from now until October 28, the weapons you might be familiar with in Left 4 Dead 2 have now come to Dying Light. You'll have to craft these weapons via Gold blueprints that you'll earn by completing tasks and challenges in the game. The weapons in question including the Frying Pan, Electric Guitar, and Golf Club, by completing tasks and challenges in the game. Techland says for this event that it has also "increased number of Virals, waves of attacking hordes, an intensifying fight for survival, along with an increased amount of guns and ammo at your disposal."

If you don't get in on the action this weekend though, then fear not, as you'll still be able to earn these weapons from Left 4 Dead 2 in another way. After the event has ended, Techland will make standard blueprints available as free DLC later on.

All in all, it's cool to see these two franchises crossover, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit bummed that the inclusion of weapons from L4D2 is as far as this is going. Still, it's nice to see Techland continue to support Dying Light in a meaningful way so long after release.

You can check out the trailer below if you'd to see more of this Dying Light Left 4 Dead 2 event in action. The event is live now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
