Dying Light new update is now available across all platforms and it adds the "Dying 2 Know" banner to console versions as well. Is there something going on?

Although Dying Light 2 is the primary focus and project for Techland at the moment, the developer still continues to support the original Dying Light title with more new content updates.

Today, the game receives a new update on all platforms that requires a pretty hefty download based on the Dying Light update history. However, it seems there is something hidden inside the update as Techland has not reacted yet.

Dying Light Update 1.38 Patch Notes

Currently, there are no official patch notes for the game. However, if you check out the changelog on PS4 for the new update, you will recognize the lines below as patch notes:

  • New weapons
  • New blueprints
  • New type of live event
  • Update DLC Section
  • Minor bug fixes

It seems like the new update might contain some content that requires an announcement from the developers. Probably that's why Techland has not provided any details on the update yet.

Also, this new update replaces a tower banner inside the game with a new one reading "Are You Dying 2 Know More?" on consoles. While this could be a hint for an upcoming update on Dying Light 2, the banner is the same as the PC version that was launched a few months earlier.

Dying Light is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. The game received an enhanced edition a few months earlier for the 9th-gen consoles. The sequel to the game will be released on December 7.
