Today Koei Tecmo released a new set of screenshots and artwork of the upcoming open-world Musou game Shin Sangokumusou 8, known i the west as Dynasty Warriors 9 .

First of all, we get the introduction of five more officers: Pang De, Han Dang, Guan Suo, Bao Sanniang, and Zhang Chunhua.

Below you can read a summary for all of them:

Pang De

A reputable warrior who had originally served Ma Teng and Ma Chao of Western Liang, he went on to become a general of Wei after an encounter with Cao Cao in Hanzhong. He generally had a calm demeanor and a steel-like tenacity in fulfilling his goals.

Han Dang

Han Dang, originally a footman from Liaoxi Province, was discovered by Sun Jian wherein he went on to serve Wu as a naval leader. He became a veteran general under Wu wherein he served the Sun family for three generations.

Guan Suo

Growing up as the son of Guan Yu, he became an honest and hard-working warrior who always greeted anyone he met with sincerity. This trait made him very popular with the common people while his earnest innocence gained him popularity among many women.

Bao Sanniang

Born as the third daughter of the Bao family, she went on to follow Guan Suo after the two met on the battlefield wherein she became interested in him. She had a fearless personality and was often seen beaming with cheer and positivity.

Zhang Chunhua

Zhang Chunhua was well-known for her intelligence, a caring mother to two talented sons, Sima Shi and Sima Zhao, and a loving wife to Sima Yi. Although her face was never without a smile, she was feared by those in her family.

Yet, this is not all, as we also get more about the game's features, and more precisely on weapons.

Weapons can be reforged by equipping gems that can strengthen attack or defense, or give attributes like fire, ice, thunder, wind, poison, and power. Each weapon can be slotted with up to six gems. They can also be equipped with three reactive attacks and three trigger attacks.

They're sold by blacksmiths, and they are classified by rarity (common, rare, and epic). Other ways to obtain weapons are through special scrolls or via crafting using materials gathered across the land or purchased at the coin collector.

Each character can actually equip any kind of weapon, but they will be able to execute unique attacks if they are given their favorite weapon type. They will also perform more powerful attacks with a broader range.

Dynasty Warriors 9 releases in Japan on February 8th, exclusively for PS4, while the western release will happen just a few days later, on February 13th. It will also get two additional platforms in the west, coming for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
