Dynasty Warriors 9 Gets New Open-World Gameplay Showing Daquiao in Action, Weather, and More

Koei Tecmo showcased new gameplay of Dynasty Warriors 9 and promised over four hours of cutscenes, 350 weapons, 100 settlements and more.

Today, during a stage event hosted by Sony Interactive Entertainment at Taipei Game Show in Taiwan, Koei Tecmo showcased a nice batch of PS4 gameplay of its upcoming open-world Musou game Shin Sangokumusou 8, which will be released in the west as Dynasty Warriors 9.

This time around, we get to see quite a bit of roaming an fighting, with Daquiao being the focus of the action. Interestingly, we also get to see one thing that we haven’t seen much of so far, and that’s weather.

On top of the gameplay, which was presented by Producer Akihiro Suzuki, we also hear a few numbers and figures about the game. This time around each character will have its own ending, while in previous games of the series there was one ending per faction.

Dynasty Warriors 9 features over four hours of story cutscenes, over 350 weapons, over 100 different cities, fortresses, and villages, and over 150 different materials.

Dynasty Warriors 9 will launch in Japan on February 8th, exclusively for PS4. The western release will come just a few days later, on February 13th. In the west, the game will also get two more platforms: Xbox One, and PC.
